WOMAN: OK. We're back on the home screen, and it's time to add your product. Click Products then Add Product. Choose a descriptive product title, and tell a story about the product in the description. You'll want to include keywords in the product description that a customer may use to search for your product online. This could be about the style, material, color, or any words that they may search to describe your product.
You can add one image or multiple images for your product, including variant images. Once you save, you can edit the image using the product editor. Next, I'll add the price. Adding a compare at price puts your item on sale. You can choose to charge taxes or not using the Charge Taxes checkbox.
Then you can decide if Shopify will track your products inventory. If you choose to track inventory with Shopify, you can then add your initial quantity. This next step is very important.
You need to tell the system if your product requires shipping. If you have a digital product or service, you can uncheck this. Depending on how you have your shipping setup, product weights are used to calculate the shipping estimates. Your product may have options like sizes, colors, materials, or maybe even other options if you have a digital product.
You can use variants to offer these choices on your product page. The Search Engine Preview allows you to edit how you'll show up on search engines.
I'll edit mine and add some keywords so that people will be able to find my product. Perfect. And then I'll save. If you're using multiple sales channels, you can manage the product visibility right from the product editor.
We have some great features on the right of the editor that help you organize products in your store. You can group products by type, vendor, or tag them and use those for collections later. It really helps to organize your store and make it easier for customers to find things. Perfect.
Now, let's take a look at our product page. And this is what our product page looks like with all of the options we created. Congratulations. You've added your first product.
