[MUSIC PLAYING] We just saw an example of a really smooth customer experience. Next, we'll explore what you can do to get a similar result. In this module, we'll talk about customer needs and how to use data to support your decisions. It's not easy to plan your ideal customer journey without knowing who your customer is and what they want. Your customer may have an internal checklist of what they need before they'll make a purchase.

The more you know about your customers, the more you can do to check off those requirements for them. This can be done by building out a shopper profile. For example, ask yourself, do my customers need a lot of information before purchasing? Do they value a fast checkout process? Do they expect social proof like reviews? Do they like to see a high level of polish throughout my site with brand imagery and lifestyle content?

The answers to these questions provide invaluable insights for building out your website with your customers' experience in mind. Download the shopper profile worksheet to create a profile for your own customer demographic. You'll be able to use this as a reference to make more informed decisions when setting up and maintaining your theme. Keep these customer preferences close by and at the top of your mind.

This will help guide you throughout the rest of the course and give you more confidence in making the best decisions for your business. Think of this like a quiz that you're taking from the point of view of your customer. Remember, you and the customer have goals which are closely aligned. Their goal is to find the perfect product from a brand they trust. Your goal is to be that brand and make the sale.

Think like your customer and proactively give them what they want to ensure both your goals are met. It's a win-win.
