The checkout is the most critical moment of your customer’s journey. When your customer gets to the checkout page, they’re eager to buy, so you want minimal distractions and you want to reinforce their confidence in buying from you. As a Shopify customer, you get Shopify’s expertly designed checkout flow built into your online store

There are still a few elements you can customize to make the experience unique to your brand. Let’s add a logo to the checkout page to help reinforce your brand. From your theme editor click “Theme settings.” Here you can make customizations to your checkout.

Let’s add that logo. I’m going to keep my background white and I’m not going to add a background image. You can also change the typography so it matches your website. You can also change the accent and button colors so it’s on brand for your store. Click Save.

Now let’s customize checkout options. Click on “visit the admin” to go to the checkout section or you can click “Settings” and navigate to checkout. When you enable customer accounts, Shopify stores information about your customer’s identity, order history and order status. Your customer’s details, such as address information, will be pre-filled from the stored information during checkout the next time.

Next, choose the contact method for your customer to get notified about updates on their purchases. They can also opt in for shipping updates. You can choose how much information you’d like to gather from your customer.

I’m going to leave the default setting here. I’ll keep both of these options checked as it helps to make the checkout process easier for customers. The default settings here are good to stick with for a new e-commerce business but you can always come back here and adjust them later.

I recommend you keep this checked. You’ll also notice the option to preselect the sign-up option. Before clicking that box, you should research about email marketing laws in your region. Click Save.

Lastly let’s talk about the checkout language. By clicking on checkout language, you can manage and change the language of each word on the checkout page.
