[MUSIC PLAYING] If you never built an online store before, it may feel like a daunting task. It may feel like it might just be easier to outsource your design to a professional but when you build your business with Shopify, however, you have a shortcut in creating a beautiful e-commerce store. And that shortcut is a Shopify theme store. The Shopify theme store has over $100 professionally designed e-commerce website templates, that you can use to build your own e-commerce store.
I'll show you what the theme store is and how it works. So the Shopify theme store gives you lots of different templates that you can use to influence the look and feel for your online store. At the very top, you'll see certain navigation items like collection, industries, all themes and even have a chance to search specific terminology you're looking for your theme.
If I were starting a store and I was starting a store that was an apparel store, I would most likely go to industries. And once I hover over industries, I'll see clothing and fashion. Once I click it, I'll be given tons of different options of different themes that I could use and explore. It's as simple as clicking on one of these themes, seeing that you have different styles included in them. You can visit a demo of that as well.
And make sure when demoing through your store, you also see the desktop and mobile view. So that way you can get as much of a realistic example before you dive deep into a specific Shopify theme. Now going back to the search bar, if I were the start a store and I would have maybe a single product to choose, I would choose search and type in the words single. I can see we have a few suggestions right off the bat.
So I'll go with a single feature product. Once I've done so, I can see a bunch of different themes and templates that would work perfectly for a single product. In this case, I'll choose jumpstart that's been developed by Shopify. From there, I'll click View demo. And I'll make sure, once again, to take a look at what the site will look like on desktop and mobile.
Now keep in mind all Shopify themes are fully responsive to work with every single screen size you or your customer might interact with. So just give it a quick scroll. They'll give you right off the bat and understanding of how your store may look like and keep in mind you can actually reorder and customize a lot of these sections along the way. Now that looks great on desktop, I'll give mobile a quick view.
Great. So this could be a great thing to start off with and keep in mind, you could always test out different themes along the way. Now one of the key things to keep in mind is when looking at the theme store, there are actually certain themes that are built to be mobile first to focus just on customers on mobile. And then there's themes their focus and influence specifically on desktop.
So it might be wise to go into your search bar and just search for the word mobile. You'll see that we have mobile first design as a suggestion and that's great. It's going to go ahead and curate me a lot of the themes that are actually focused just on mobile first. So once again it's a key factor, when taking consideration of a future theme that you might use for your online store and as I mentioned there over 100 different options that you could leverage for your online store.
So take an opportunity to look at the theme store, dive into some of the themes that you think would be great for your business and keep in mind every different theme will have different benefits associated with it. So make sure to play around with it. So another really cool and key factor, when choosing a Shopify theme is, they're all optimized for SEO. So what that means exactly is your theme that you move forward with your online store will give you a great opportunity to organically rank up in different search engines.
You're already starting off on a really strong no, when choosing a Shopify theme. If you're in that scenario, where you might not know really where the start, it might be best to just click on all themes. So in front of me we can see all of the themes that are available on the theme store. In my specific case, I want to Shopify theme that would incorporate an Instagram feed. So what I can do is I can search through all of the filterable criteria and notice under marketing and social media, I can filter all of the themes that incorporate an Instagram feed in them.
So really use the opportunity if you don't know where to start to click on all the themes, search through all of the filterable criteria and it'll be a great way to dive into the theme store as quick as possible.
